FKM FOOD QUALITY RUBBER SHEETING

Our FKM food quality rubber sheeting provides a highly durable sheeting solution. It is ideal for use in applications which require an excellent resistance to hydrocarbons, chemicals and high temperatures. All of the compounds which we use to manufacture this particular rubber sheeting are FDA approved which ensures that it is suitable for use in food contact applications.

We supply this particular FKM food quality rubber sheeting in a range of sheet thicknesses from 1mm to 5mm to ensure that you get the perfect product for your specific needs. We can also supply this FKM rubber sheeting in rolls or cut into sheet of your chosen size. Additionally, we also have the option to convert the sheeting into gaskets and strips.

WHAT IS FKM RUBBER?

FKM rubber, also known as fluoroelastomers have become very popular for use in the automotive industry. This is due to their exceptional heat and chemical resistance, which makes the rubber perfectly suited to the transport of fuel, particularly bio-diesel. FKM rubber is often separated into different classes depending on either their chemical composition, their fluorine content or their crosslinking mechanism.

FKM rubber is highly resistant to high temperatures up to +250°C. However they aren’t as suited to cold temperatures as other rubber compounds, with -10°C being the minimum functioning temperature. Despite FKM sheeting having high resistance to hydrocarbons, oils, acids and chemicals, it cannot be used where resistance to ketones is required.
